Did you know? When you received a hotfix for a previous Data Protector (minor) version, you should make sure the hotfix is included in the patch bundle before applying the patch bundle. This is recommended for customers which may have received the hotfix right before the release of the patch bundle. If your hotfix is not included in the patch bundle open a software case and ask for assistance.
Hi
I had the same issue.
Figured out that the filesystem was full.
Check with
# df -h
and if full free up space.
Afterwards I could install the bundle with
# ./omnisetup.sh -bundleadd b905
Good luck and best regards
Andy
Hi Andy file system is ok, not full but error still occurs
Is it possible do upgrade directly to 9.05 from 8.10 using the version 9.05 depot ?
Hi Ghaith,
yes, it is possible to do the direct upgrade… Prepare an installation server and install current patches and use the depot files for the upgrade.
Best regards
Daniel
Thanks a lot 🙂

When updating data protector 9.00 to 9.05 actualmete the configuration that I have (customers, scheduling backups, etc. ) is lost
Hi Luis,
this normally should not happen and you might need to collect the logs created during the upgrade in order to find the root cause for that.
Best regards
Daniel
For those experiencing the “%pre(CORE_Patch-A.09.00-6.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 1” error, as I just did with 9.04, some steps you can take to diagnose this problem are enable debugging in omnisetup.sh (by uncommenting the set -x debug variable). That’ll give you the rpm command that is being executed. Then you
can run something like “rpm -qp –scripts DPLNX_00369.rpm” which will emit the scriptlets that are getting executed, allowing you to run them by hand. Eg, the scriptlet that was causing me problems was running “echo $i | cpio -padVL –no-preserve-owner $BACKUP_DIR”. And, once I ran that by hand, I found the problem peculiar to my server.
