Data Protector 9 – Patch Bundle 9.06 (Build 107)

Am 08.04.2016 hat Hewlett Packard Enterprise für Linux, HP-UX und Windows das Patch-Bundle 9.06 herausgegeben. Das Bundle enthält wichtige Änderungen und neue Funktionen, die vollständige Liste kann in der Patch Beschreibung nachgelesen werden.

Auszug aus den neuen Funktionen:

  • VMware GRE Agent in cluster environments
  • Support for 3PAR InForm OS version 3.2.2 and updated SMI-S agent
  • Improved total data protection calculation
  • Support for Storage Optimizer 5.2
  • Introduction of Telemetry (collect additional information regarding host OS, DP components and versions, devices and media, schedules, and licenses
  • Support for VDDK 6.0.2 and SAN transport mode

Es empfiehlt sich dringend die komplette Beschreibung des Updates zu lesen.

Wussten Sie schon? Wenn in einer früheren (minor) Version des Data Protectors ein Hotfix eingespielt wurde, so sollte vor dem Einspielen des Pacth Bundles geprüft werden ob der Hotfix im Patch Bundle enthalten ist. Dies kann notwendig sein, wenn der erhaltene Hotfix kurz vor Erscheinen des Patch Bundle eingespielt wurde. Ist der Hotfix nicht enthalten sollte ein Software Case geöffnet werden.

  1. Getting IPC Read Errors while Backup to Tape.
    Copy StoreOnce to Tape getting the same error.

    Upgrade 9.04 to 9.06

    • Hi Laszlo,

      it seems to be the same error with notifications. As far as I know there is already a hotfix available for that.
      In order to receive the file, you need to open a case.

      the telemetry feature is part of debug log collector.
      You may include it using GUI or omnidlc command.

  5. While perfoming update from 9.04 to 9.06, the Installer finished with „Some Services startet with warnings or errors.“ and „Timeout reached before Data Protector CRS started.“. The CRS Service was down and could not be started. After rebooting the machine, this problem went away

    • I had this error with DP 8.1.

      If you open windows application logs, you can see that DP is required a system restart.
