Das Housekeeping, welches im Hintergrund den Plattenplatz wieder freigibt, kann jedoch erst starten wenn das urspr\u00fcnglich verwendete Medium in Data Protector nicht mehr eingebunden ist. Das Housekeeping ben\u00f6tigt Zeit, daher wird erst nach und nach der urspr\u00fcnglich verwendete Plattenplatz wieder freigegeben. Den Task des Housekeepings kann man in DP momentan nicht steuern (vergleiche dazu Blackout Windows bei den StoreOnce Hardware Systemen), er sollte aber auch nicht w\u00e4hrend der normalen Backupzeit ausgef\u00fchrt werden, da dies sonst die Datendurchsatzrate des Backups st\u00f6ren w\u00fcrde. \u00dcber die global Variable <code>DeleteUnprotectedMediaFreq<\/code> kann zumindest gesteuert werden wann und wie oft am Tag die abgelaufenen B\u00e4nder gel\u00f6scht und damit das Housekeeping ausgel\u00f6st werden.
