For Windows based cell server the patches are installed on cell server first (in most cases the cell server is installation server too) and afterwards on all remaining installation servers. Now all the clients can be upgraded using the Data Protector GUI (for cluster use the manual way). For Linux\/Unix based cell servers and installation servers after the installation of patches the client component of these servers must be upgraded using the “Upgrade” feature in DP GUI. It is always recommended to read the patch description file before installing the updates, as in these files new features or new omnirc variables might be introduced and documented. To automate the patch installation in Windows environments the parameter Hinweis: In MoM (Manager of Manager) environment the MoM server is updated first, followed by all remaining cell server.
