In these cases you will need support from HP to identify, analyse and eventually solve a potential bug. Below you will find the steps to open a new case in a fast and efficient manner.<\/p>\n<p><b>Support: <\/b>The easiest way to get HP support for Data Protector is the <b>Software Support Portal<\/b> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/\"><b>http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Howto: <\/b>A handbook to the SSO portal can be downloaded here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.data-protector.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/HPSoftwareCustomerSupportHandbook-November-2011.pdf\">HPSoftwareCustomerSupportHandbook (November 2011)<\/a>. The most current version can be downloaded from HP: <a href=\"http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/pdf\/HP_Software_Customer_Support_Handbook.pdf\">http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/pdf\/HP_Software_Customer_Support_Handbook.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>How to open a case:<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>1<\/b> To open a new case login to SSO portal (<a href=\"http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/\">http:\/\/support.openview.hp.com\/<\/a>) using your passport account and click on &#8220;Case Manager&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.data-protector.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/case01.jpg\" alt=\"Case\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>2<\/b> On the next page choose &#8220;Submit a new case&#8221; and you will get the following page:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.data-protector.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/case02.jpg\" alt=\"Case\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>3<\/b> Select all the mandatoryoptions. <b>Please keep in mind: &#8220;Severity&#8221; is set to the lowest priority 4 per default! Depending on your own needs, select a appropriate severity!<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>4<\/b> Within next screen fill in all details (problem description, etc.) to the case. In addition you may upload screenshots and debugs to the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>5<\/b> I recommend to run get_info and to attach the report to the case. The report can be generated using: <code>\"c:\\Program Files\\OmniBack\\bin\\utilns\\get_info.exe\" > c:\\temp\\case.txt<\/code> (example).
