In November 2011 I wrote an article regarding HP support for software – https://www.data-protector.org/wordpress/2011/11/data-protector-cases-and-hp-support/.
Time goes by, software develops and (this seems to be the nature of software) bugs are found in the software. In this case you just call HP for support. But to be prepared, HP has created the so called “Software Customer Support Handbook”. The document was reviewed recently and can be downloaded from here: http://support.openview.hp.com/pdf/HP_Software_Customer_Support_Handbook.pdf. The handbook allows you to document your SAID numbers, gives you a brief description of the SSP (Software Support Online) portal and how to log a case depending on your priority and your selected level of support. For any questions, please comment…
Hello!
Thank you for your portal.
I have one question. Do the Data protector will be running on windows 2012 server platform?
Hi Alex,
DP will run on Windows 2012 with DA and MA. The cell server itself will not run on W2012, as the internal database (RAIMA) needs to be changed and this is not done in the 7 version of DP. Please expect a on Windows 2012 running next generation DP in Q4 this year.
Best regards
Daniel
thank you!
Would you know if you can import a 6.11 IDB into Dataprotector 8 and use it to recovery from?
